Animals from both Sweden and abroad can be seen in natural surroundings
in Borås Wildlife Park. Large open spaces
for the many animals and always a lot of events going on for the youngest

For the enthusiastic ornithologist Hornborga lake is like paradise,
especially in spring-time, when thousands of cranes dance here. There is
a tower for bird-watching and in the same area a nature museum with exhibitions
and information about the birds that can be seen.

The area around Kinnekulle, which is a plateau mountain, is peaceful
and quiet. The most breathtaking views can be admired from here and the
flora is typical for the area. The lucky one might even find the rare orchid
lady's slipper.
Tiveden National Park

The most southern real wilderness in Sweden is Tiveden National Park.
The area has walking tracks and the lakes in the park offers many good
places to bathe.
Rosenlund garden (Rosenlunds trädgård)
On the lush slopes of the hill Billingen, you can admire this well-tended
private garden. Among the special plantations here, the herb garden has
a great variety of species, not to mention the "land of the Bible"
which is a collection of all plants you can find in the Holy Writ.
Halleberg and Hunneberg

The Swedish king's private hunting area is to be found here among the
plateau mountains Halleberg and Hunneberg. If you are interested in wildlife,
it might be a good idea to join the elk safaris arranged by the tourist
information bureau in Vänersborg.
14 km south-east Tidaholm is Hökensås Natur Reserve. It is a 100 km
long area alongside the lake Vättern. The rumour says it is a haunted area,
Besides that, it is a beautiful area with lots of lakes and an eldorado
for fishersmen and berry-pickers. The surroundings resemble deep forests
in Northern Sweden.
