Christian Eriksson was a sculptor who among other things has made the sculpture "St. Göran and the dragon" in the Town Hall in Stockholm. To his house and studio, Oppstuhage, came many artists to visit and several of them fell in love with the district and bought a place of their own round the lake. Today you can see productions of these artists at Rackstad Museum and also visit Oppstuhage.The museum of Rackstad. Phone: 0570-809 90 Klässbols Linen MillNear Arvika lies also Klässbols Linen Mill, which is the last place in Sweden where damask linen is made. Here you can buy the most beautiful linen tablecloths and napkins to go with it. Phone: 0570-601 85GlaskogenIn western Värmland you find Glaskogen which is an area of forest where very few people live but wherea lot of animals have found their homestead. It is a wilderness, but a quite well-arranged one. There are beautiful ways for canoes and about 50 km of excellent tracks for walking tours.Please call Arvika Tourist Agency for further details. Phone: 0570-817 90 The Museum of FrejaIn July 1994 the steamer "Freja" was salvaged. The steamer had been on the bottom of lake Fryken in 98 years when it was salved.
