The writer Nils Ferlin was born in Filipstad in eastern Värmland. There is an exhibition with his texts and poems. There will be other events in the museum every Thursday.

The Mineral museum in Långban

Långban is the richest mineral deposit in the world. More than 300 species have been counted, and some of them you can only find here. It is a very special tourist attraction. You can pick your own minerals and maybe make your own piece of jewellery to take home. Here you can also see how the mining industry worked a long time ago.

Sveafallen

In the east of Värmland you can find a waterfall without water, Sveafallen. It is situated outside Degerfors and it is a remnant from the Great Ice Age. The area is very special with its giant kettles in the ground.
