In the big lake Vänern you can go out trolling for salmon, trout and pike-perch. It's a thrill when a rod suddenly bends down and the reel squeks. What is it? In the smaller lakes and watercourses all around the province, you can hire boats and row out. Then you can sit there, looking on the nature and enjoy the sun. Perhaps you can bring a nice picnic-basket so you can stay out all day. In most of these smaller lakes you can fish for both perch and pike and in some of the lakes other sorts of fish such as salmon, trout and river trout have been put. If you want to go fishing in Värmland, you need fishing licenses in most cases. Check with the local tourist agency for further details. In the river Klarälven you can get both salmon, trout and grayling. And on the river, in the Northern Värmland, you will find one of the largest fishing camps. It is situated in Norra Ny, not far from Stöllet. Buy a fishing license and try your fortune! Below are just a few tips where to go fishing, otherwise contact Värmlands Turistråd.
