AB Jönköping's match factory started 1848 in the
building which today is the Match Museum. Here you can follow the history of
match manufacturing and the early manual working process. Here is also an
extensive label collection from matchboxes made in Jönköping and sold
all over the world.
Målilla Open Air Museum is a beautiful
summer idyll. Målilla Motor Museum - here you can see cars from the
earliest days of the century.
The only one of its kind in Sweden; a complete copy
of a furniture factory from the 1920s. The museum site also contains "Gillmans
blacksmith's forge" and a complete sawmill.

The man-of-war Kronan. Exhibit of the 17th century's largest
ship. Twice as large as the Vasa. She sank by the coast of Öland in 1676.

The Emigrant institute in Växjö is a perfect
starting point for visitors from other countries trying to trace their roots in
Sweden. Among the million Swedes who emigrated to North America between
1850-1925, almost a fifth came from Småland. Apart from Europe's largest
archive and library on emigration, the Institute has a permanent exhibition
"The Dream of America".
