"Gnosjöandan"- The spirit of Gnosjö
The people of Gnosjö work with a special sort of spirit which has been
named "Gnosjöandan". This special spirit has became so famous
that Gnosjö very often has visitors, who want to study this successful
little village. The municipality has about 10 000 inhabitants only. Many of the small industries are specialised in metal industry. There are about 219 companies.
Many are contractors to Volvo
and SAAB.
In Sweden, this is the only paperworks for handmade paper. You can see
skilled craftsmen forming sheet after sheet of fine paper in the same manner
as was done 300 years ago.
In the middle of Småland, in the forests between Nybro and Växjö, the
area is regarded as The Kingdom of Crystal, with about fifteen world-famous
glassworks.
Glassblowing: You can see the blowers at work in most of the
glassworks' blowing rooms on weekdays. During the summer season, they also work on the weekends.
