Skellefteå Kyrkstad (Skellefteå Church town) Bonnstan

There are 116 church cabins with over 400 rooms in Bonnstan. These houses were built for people who could only manage to get to town on high church holidays. On these occasions they needed some where to live since to travel back and forth on the same day was impossible.

Skellefteå Museum, Skellefteå

Cultural historical museum which represents the whole province. The emphasis is on technique and industrial history. A new exhibition covering the history of Skellefteå opened in March '95. Smaller exhibitions of mint and coinage history as well as weights and measures are open.

Gammlia Open-air Museum, Umeå

An open-air museum with cultural and natural historical exhibitions. During the summer the museum functions a "real" farm with typical farm animals. A restaurant is open in Sävan's manor.

Västerbottens Museum, Umeå

Cultural historical museum for Västerbotten with primary exhibitions which reflects Västerbotten's history from the earliest times, to the present. Extensive collections of Lapplander crafts. Open-air museum during the summer months when local craftsmen demonstrate their skills.
