Kukkolaforsen (Kukkola Falls), Haparanda
Fish the way it was done in the 12th century, with a hand-held net!
In Kukkola you walk out on a small pier and with the help of a a 6m long
handle you hold the net. Afterwards the fish are grilled in the special
Kukkola way. There is a fish museum and a salmon farm of which both are
well worth a visit

Öjeby Church, Piteå
Öjeby church is a fine example of a Middle Age church. The church tower
is probably the oldest structure in the Piteå
area. Near the church is a church town, where the congregation stayed during
high church holidays. The weekend following Mid-summer is celebrated in
the old-fashioned way with a fair and church service. Guided tours during
the summer.

Kyrkbyn i Gammelstad (Church town in Gammelstad) Luleå
When you visit Luleå, you must see Gammelstad. The church is dated to
the 14th century and around it are more than 450 church cabins and 30 small
farms. These premises were used by the congregation in the old days when
they came to town on church holidays. The cabins are still in use today. The open-air museum Hägnan(Swedish only)
is also in the area. If you are interested in trying the local food at its best, then
a meal at Margareta's Wärdshus is a must. Be sure to make reservations.

Norrbottens Museum, Luleå
Located in Hermelins Park, the Norrbotten Museum contains a large collection
of Lapplander objects. The history and culture of Norrbotten is told in
the exhibition.

The hose of Technology is a gold-mine of anyone interested in exploring
and experimenting with technology. Run your own water power-plant or why
not try gold-panning. Take a trip in space in the planetarium or draw a
