Jukkasjarvi Homestead, Jukkasjärvi

Jukkasjärvi is an old marketplace for Laplanders. It is today one of Lapland's most popular tourist attractions. Here is one of Sweden's oldest Laplander churches with the altarpiece of the artist Bror Hjort. Jukkasjärvi Wärdshus is well known for its excellent kitchen, a must for the gourmet wanting to try the local delicacies.

The church at Karesuando

Sweden's most northerly church. The present church was built in 1905 and replaced an older church which was located on the same site. Lars Levi Laestadius started his revival here. The altarpiece is a sculpture of Bror Hjort.
