A world famous museum founded by Lappmark's doctor Einar Wallquist.
Collections from the pioneer days when the Swedes first started to colonize
the northern provinces. Mostly silver that the Laplanders traded in exchange
for furs and skins at the coastal markets. The collection of Laplander
silver is among the best in the world.

Lappstaden (Laplander town), Arvidsjaur
Lappstaden is the oldest preserved church town. With about 80 Lapphuts
and lodgings. Lappstaden has never been a permanent settlement It was used
as temporary lodging during church holidays and fairs. Today the huts are
used when the Laplanders hold their parliamentary session the last week-end
in August. Guides tours through Sita Sameland are available.

Go back 100 years and experience life in a mining town. Kåkstan is
an authentic reconstruction of the primitive town during the 1880's. Stroll
the streets and see the living conditions of the pioneers and miners

Malmberget's Mining Museum
The museum has exhibitions showing mining from the past to the present.
Mining techniques from the 17th century are shown in detail using old pictures
and maps.
Voullerim 6 000 years old, Jokkmokk
An archaeological excavation of the remains of a hunter-gatherer people.
Reproductions of Iron Age implements gives the visitor a chance to try
the old techniques. Take a peek inside a hut made of birchbark and sod.
