The Dead fall (Döda fallet)
The Dead fall between Hammarstrand and Bispgården is an unusual sight.
The night between 6th and 7th of June 1796, the whole Ragunda lake was
emptied in four hours. The great river below the lake was dried out and
became "the dead fall". All this because of one man, Magnus "Vildhussen"
Huss, who built a canal which could not stand the spring flood.
The outdoor play about "Vildhussen", and how he emptied the
Ragunda lake, takes place every summer on the only revolving platform in
Sweden, next to the dead fall.
