Halland is dominated by the coastline facing the Kattegatt. The four large rivers; Lagan, Ätran, Viskan and Nissan which meander through the province are ending up in the ocean. The coastline of the procince presents two completely different characters. In the south, the coastline is an undulating virginal coast with wide, white sandy beaches, high dunes and protective beach forests. North of Ätran, the nature gets wilder and the sandy beaches are not as numerous as in the south. There are mostly cliffs along the northern shore.

There are a number of activities both for those who want an active, adventurous holiday and for those who want to get acquainted with the culture of Sweden. The wildlife is exciting and varying as are the museums and historical attractions. Fjärås Bräcka is probably the most impressive of the nature reserves in the province.
