Windsurfing in Halland

The coast of Halland, with its open waters and guarantee of good winds, is an ideal place for windsurfing. The sport of windsurfing gained its first foothold in Sweden thanks to two boys from Halmstad. The Halmstad Windsurfing Club was at one point the best in the world with no fewer than five worldchampions, among them Patrik Troell and Thomas Persson. Windsurfing is today a very popular sport in Halland with thousands of enthusiastic surfers.

There are special windsurfing zones in order to increase safety and enjoyment for everyone.
Make sure you bring your own surfboard, do not count on being able to hire boards at the beach. You can however hire cottages close to the beach.
