Boat Trips and Boat-Hiking
Boat Trips and Boat-hiking
When one know that Bohuslän consists of 3 000 islands, 300 km of coastline
and deep fjords, one quickly realises the convenience and beauty of travelling
by boat. The seaside resort era in the late 19th century started the tradition
of passenger boats and it has continued ever since.
During the summer there are boat trips departing from almost every coastal
village. Some are recreational, such as the seal safaris and the night
time prawn cruises, fishing and scenic tours. There are also daily boat
trips connecting the villages, as well as certain islands that do not have
a regular ferry connection.
Since every boat makes a number of ports on its route, the absolute
easiest way to grasp it all is to contact the local tourist office for
details. The trips may vary slightly from day to day but the tourist offices
have the daily schedules and also sell the necessary tickets.

With a bit of patience, these conditions offer a perfect opportunity
to tour the province by boat. Any tourist office in the province will gladly
help you as well as make the necessary room reservations, i.e. hostel or
private rooms.
