Eriksbergs Wildlife Reserve

Eriksberg is one of the largest wildlife reserves in the world - 10 square kilometres. Here you can see moose, wapiti, deer, mufflon and the European buffalo - the Visent. In a special area there is also wild boar.
The 17th century farm hosts a café, museum and smaller exhibitions and a mini-zoo for the children.

Mörrum House of the Salmon -Laxens Hus

Mörrum is world-famous for its salmon fishing. The salmon aquarium, the breeding, the exhibition of the history of salmon fishing, the lovely natural surrondings and the fishing itself are good reasons to pay a visit.

The Giant Pots in Tararp (Jättegrytorna i Tararp)

Six major pots and several smaller ones are known to exist in this area. The pots are huge smooth holes in the rocks and were created at the end of the Ice Age when the mainland ice melted 11 000 years ago. Rapid flowing water has, together with gravel and sand, polished the pots out of the rocks. Old myths say that giants used to boil their porridge in these giant pots.

The Island Hanö

Southeast of Sölvesborg the island Hanö rises 60 meters from the sea. During the Napoleonic Wars it was used as a harbour by the English navy. The lighthouse on the island has the strongest light in Sweden, and from the cliff you can get a wonderful view of the coastline. The island has beaches, interesting rock formations and varied natural surrondings. The visitor can stay at one of the STF Youth Hostels. Tourists can reach Hanö by boat all year.

The Island Karön

Karön is the largest of the islands in the Ronneby archipelago. On the island the visitor can find restaurants, beaches and walking-trails. To get to Karön you take the boat from Ekenäs, the journey lasting only a few minutes.

Curing houses

In Blekinge you can find several nice curing houses that offer smoked fish using traditional methods from the beginning of the century. Salmon, lobster, mussels etc. are some of the things visitors can find at several places in Blekinge. Check with the local tourist agency.
