Sights and Attractions in Blekinge: HistoricalThe Sölvesborg CastleRuins from Sölvesborg castle are situated to the north of Sölvesborg and are dated from the 14th century. The natural surronding is beautiful and it is a nice area for a picnic, especially by the Sölvesborg Bay.The Björketorp Stone (Björketorpsstenen)The Björketorp stone is one of the strangest runestones in Sweden. The stone is 4 meters high and was carved in 650-700 AD. According to the mysterious text will anyone who moves or destroys it be cursed according to the mysterious text. The building is authentically preserved . The view from the walls is impressive. There is a summer restaurant in the inner garden. Boat tours leaves from Fisktorget and the harbour during the summer.Phone: 0455-30 34 90 The Peace Stone in Bröms (Fredsstenen i Bröms)In Bröms you will find a stone, commemorating peace between Sweden and Denmark in1645. Remainders of the Danish fort Brömsehus can be found nearby. A walking trail starts from this stone.The Naval Yard (Örlogsvarvet)The Old Naval Yard was founded at the same time as Karlskrona - in 1680. Inside the yard is the oldest dry dock in Scandinavia, dated back to 1720. The Polhem Dock was once considered to be the 8th wonder of the world and Hajen (The Shark) is housed in the dock. Hajen is the Swedish navy's first submarine, built in 1904. Close to the dock is the ropewalk, the longest (300m) wooden building in Sweden.Kungsholms FortThe Fort was built in 1680. There is a beautiful park, a small museum and a unique boat harbour.
