The Blekinge Regional Museum, Karlskrona

This is the central museum of Blekinge with a variety of collections. Historical, religious, and military exhibitions show different sides of the history of the region up to the 17th century. The farming culture is represented by handicrafts, clothing and buildings, but there are also exhibitions of industry, design/art, and shipping.

The Marine Museum (Marinmuseum)

The Marine Museum in Karlskrona was founded in 1752 and has a large collection of shipmodels from Henrik af Chapman. Ships, weapons and pictures from three centuries.

Drottningsskärs Citadel

The citadel was built in 1680 to defend the Marina Base Karlskrona, together with the Kungsholm Fort. The building is authentically preserved. The view from the walls is impressive. There is a summer restaurant in the inner garden. Boat tour leave from the Fisktorget and the harbour during the Summer. The Aspö ferry is free.

The Peace Stone in Bröms (Fredsstenen i Bröms)

In Bröms you will find a stone commemorating peace between Sweden and Denmark in 1645. Remainders of the Danish fort Brömsehus can be found nearby. A walking trail starts from this stone.

The Naval Yard (Örlogsvarvet)

The Old Naval Yard was founded at the same time as Karlskrona - in 1680. Inside the yard is the oldest dry dock in Scandinavia, dated back to 1720. The Polhem Dock was once considered to be the 8th wonder of the world and Hajen (The Shark) is housed in the dock. Hajen is the Swedish navy's first submarine, built in 1904. Close to the dock is the ropewalk, the longest (300m) wooden building in Sweden.
