Major Cities in Blekinge

Karlskrona

Karlskrona is the largest town in Blekinge with roughly 60 000 inhabitants and is located on the coastline in the eastern part of the province. The city was founded in 1680 and came to be the main base of the Swedish navy. Approaching Karlskrona from the sea offers a view of tempting green and rocky islands. The city is built on several islands and is connected to the mainland by bridges. The streets in the city are straight and broad with large open places and monumental buildings.
The guest harbour is very popular during the summer and there are several boat tours to the nearby archipelago.

Karlshamn is known for its market, seafaring atmosphere as well as liqueur production and the refinery. The name "Karlshamns Flaggpunsch" is a well-known brand of Swedish (arrack) punch.

Ronneby

The character of the city is enhanced by the beautiful grounds and buildings in Brunnsparken. The city was formerly a well frequented health resort but today the Cultural Centre and Ronneby Brunn Park attracts most visitors.
