Börje Salming Börje Salming is often referred to as a living hockey legend. He took the step from being a junior player to the Swedish division no.1 team Brynäs. In the year 1970/1971, his team won the Swedish Championships, and for that same season and in the national team Tre Kronor, (Three Crowns) he was a key player winning bronze in the World Championships. The season 1972/73 the Team Tre Kronor won the silver medal in the World Championships. In the year 1973 he went to Canada as a professional hockey-player in the team Toronto Maple Leafs. He has participated in no less than 1229 professional games during his 17 years in the National Hockey League in the Canadian team Toronto Maple Leafs. He left professional hockey in Canada in 1990, moved back to Sweden and went to play for the Swedish team Solna AIK, he also played in the national hockey team Tre Kronor until 1992, when he ended his hockey career as a player.
