Björn Borg is the most well known Swedish tennis-player ever. He was born in Stockholm in 1956 and was the youngest player ever to join the Davis Cup team. Björn Borg is the only player ever to win the Wimbledon Championships five consecutive years. He, additionally won all the large tournaments except for the US Open and the Australian Open during his years as a tennis player. He was world Champion in 1978, 1979, and 1980. He won as many as 62 tournaments between 1974 to 1981. He has no less than 11 Grand Slam titles, and he was a key player in the Davis Cup team when they took the title in 1975. Borg developed the sport by being the first player to really introduce what hard training is all about, and his physical abilities, combined with an extraordinary ball feeling allowed him to play a game that no one had ever seen before. He ended this career in the mid 80s to become a businessman in fashion and cosmetics.
